 | | | Dimmu Borgir In Hellboy Trailer Posted By RevMaynard (Tue Nov 25 11:18pm 2003) | | | | | Dimmu Borgir have landed two of their songs in the newest trailer for next year's "Hellboy" movie based on the Dark Horse Comics series. The two songs, "Eradication Instincts Defined" and "Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse" come from their latest album, "Death Cult Armageddon", and more likely than not at least one of the songs should appear on the soundtrack to that movie. The aforementioned trailer can be seen here.

 | | | Nine Inch Nails News Posted By RevMaynard (Tue Nov 25 10:55pm 2003) | | | | | In the upcoming '2004's Most Anticipated Albums' issue of Alternative Press, there was a paragraph about the next NIN release:
"The record explores loss and possible discovery of self," says Trent Reznor about the follow-up to 1999's The Fragile, "along with alternate layers of reality and perception set inside a nightmare you can't seem to wake up from; with lots of feedback." Reznor has enlisted Atticus Ross, Jerome Dillon, Leo Herrera, mix engineer Rich Costey and Rick Rubin to help mold bleedthrough, which will feature new songs such as "The Line Begins To Blur," "Everyday Is Exactly The Same" and "My Dead Friend." This time out, Reznor is introducing high-tech to low-life. "Computers, among other things, are ruining music these days," he says. "I hate the Pro Tooled sound of perfection and everything being 'fixed.' This record is most definitely 'un-fixed.'" And when it comes to touring behind the release, T. Rez is planning on reinventing the will. "It won't be the last tour over again. That person isn't here anymore."
"Bleedthrough" is tentatively set for an early 2004 release. Thanks to The NIN Hotline for that news.

 | | | Korn Album Pushed Up Posted By RevMaynard (Tue Nov 18 10:40am 2003) | | | | | Due to an internet leak of their upcoming album, "Take A Look In The Mirror", Korn have decided to push the release date up to November 21st. Jonathon Davis had this to say: "When we heard this record was out there, we said, 'Fuck release dates--our fans want it now!' Korn fans have always been rabid when it comes to our music and if they can't wait, we're going to work with the label to put it out as fast as we can. We want our fans to hear the album the way it was meant to be heard."
Wait.... "We want our fans to hear the album the way it was meant to be heard."....? Right, it's more like "Oh sh*t, we're losing money, let's get that album out there."

 | | | Fear Factory News Posted By RevMaynard (Sun Nov 16 10:51pm 2003) | | | | | Christian Olde-Wolbers recently posted an update on the progress of the reformed Fear Factory:
"Everything is going great! We just finished tracking 14 songs at Rumbo Recorders in LA. This is where Guns N Roses recorded all their albums! The studio had a great vibe. A lot of history in this place! Roy Orbison still wanders thru the hallways! I must say this was the smoothest record we have ever recorded. We tracked the whole thing in 28 days! The record is called "Archetype" and was produced by FF ourselves. We used Ken Marshall (Skinny Puppy) to engineer and record the album. Another Canadian!! LOL! Currently I'm finishing up programming and keyboards with Rhys Fulber, Steve Tushar and John Bechdel. We will start mixing on the first of December in Vancouver with Ken Marshall. I must say this is a pretty heavy classic FF album and our hardcore fans will be pleased! No watered down songs, no stripped parts...blah blah blah...Just brutal Fear Factory!!!! Raymond has especially pushed the bar in Metal drumming to the next level!!!! The drums on this record make Demanufacture for beginners!!!! LOL.... I played all the guitars and bass on the album and we will start rehearsing with Byron Strout (Strapping Young Lad) on bass guitar in December. He will be our bass player for FF. I feel Byron has the perfect mentality for FF and he's a cool motherf**ker!!!! And he's from Canada!!!! What's up with all them Canucks!!!!! LOL! We will be touring with Korn and Static-X in February which we're really excited about!! Both Static and Korn are longtime friends and I have nothing but respect for those guys! It's gonna be a great tour...and a great year for Fear Factory! We feel this FF is stronger that ever..more hungry than ever....and most important of all....Burton, Ray and myself have become best friends in the last 2 years! We see and hang out more with each other now than we did in 10 years of touring!!! It feels truly amazing!!!!! The website is under construction. We are doing a better site at the moment! Tracklisting: "Slave Labor" "Cyberwaste" "Act Of God" "Default Judgment" "Corporate Cloning" "Archetype" "Drones" "Bite The Hand That Bleeds..." "Bonescraper" "Undercurrent" "Human Shields" "Ascension" (Outro) "School" (Nirvana cover) (bonus track) I played some for Ross Robinson and he looked at me saying this is the best work he's heard from FF yet. Rhys is saying similar things...... It feels good to be back!!!!!"
The new album, "Archetype" has been set for a tentative April 2004 release date. I personally can't wait, I was devastated when they broke up.

 | | | F**k serverfly.com Posted By RevMaynard (Thu Nov 13 07:42pm 2003) | | | | | Well, RockFury.net is finally back. And apparantly, I am a terrorist. At least that's what the good folks at my former webhost, serverfly.com, think because of this banner. They said I am pro-terrorism and pro-crime, therefore they deleted my account. Nevermind the fact that I've had that banner for the entire 2 years I've been hosted with them.
Now, not only did they delete my account, they gave me no warning whatsoever. Didn't ask me to take it down -- I would have in a heartbeat if they had just asked. And on top of all that they wouldn't even let me into my ftp to at least backup a few things. One of the things I didn't have backed up was the script I use for the news on this site, and also a good portion of the last month and a half of news. So, I only have half of October's news in the archive, and that's only thanks to Google's cache feature. Jesus I wish I had the money to hire a lawyer to teach these jackasses a lesson. Speaking of lessons, here's mine to you: never ever use serverfly.com.
