Liv Kristine kicked out of Theatre of Tragedy - Dikiznya
(Sat Aug 30 20:31:11 2003)
Theatreoftragedy.com : It is with mixed emotions that we hereby announce the band’s decision to part with singer Liv Kristine. Having worked together for almost ten years, we have now reached a point where we find ourselves with differences of opinion that cannot be bridged, and completely incompatible sets of ideas for the band’s further development.

The rest of the band will continue working with full force under the name Theatre of Tragedy, and sees this as an opportunity for further musical experimentation and evolution. This also involves finding a new, permanent, female singer, although not necessarily a replacement for Liv.

The Blackest Of The Black Tour - revmaynard
(Sat Aug 23 02:52:18 2003)
Straight from the mouth of DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara:

"The Blackest Of The Black Tour is coming to a town near you. So far, this is what I'm hearing: Danzig, Superjoint Ritual, DevilDriver, Morbid Angel, Bohemeth, rumors of Sepultura and more. I'm hearing the first date is October 15th. We're rehearsing every night for this one. We'd like to say what a gigantic honor it is to play with all these bands, and here's a little known fact: Danzig gave my previous band its first tour ever, and now here he comes on a shining black horse to do the same for DevilDriver. This guy is true blue rock-n-roll royalty, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart."

You can be sure we'll have all the tour dates as soon as they're announced.

Soil clip posted - revmaynard
(Thu Aug 21 21:05:47 2003)
A snippet of the new Soil song, "Pride", has been posted online at ea.com. The song comes from their upcoming album, "Redefine", which has yet to be given a release date, but it will be sometime this fall. In case you're wondering why the song is posted at ea.com, it's because the full song can be heard in the EA's new Madden NFL 2004, which is also why I haven't been posting much news this week...the franchise mode is damn addicting.

Sepultura - 4L145
(Tue Aug 19 06:42:48 2003)
SEPULTURA flies to New York this weekend to do interviews for the american press and promote the release of ROORBACK in USA, Canada and Australia in stores August 26th.

Meanwhile, read the interview SEPULTURA did for SPV Germany. The video version of this interview is available at SPV's website (www.spv.de).

Also, check out how was the recording of 'Bullet The Blue Sky' video. Both text and pictures were sent by Sapo, a member of the Sepultura Official Brazilian Fan Club who acts as a beggar on the video. Check it out here.

The Bullet The Blue Sky video is running for 5 Video Music Brazil awards at MTV Brasil.

I'm buying Roorback just to see what these old thrashers have been doing in their spare time.

Mushroomhead Webstore Situation Resolved! - 4L145
(Mon Aug 18 15:37:10 2003)
Well, the Mushroomhead online store is back online after months of fans merchandise being withheld because Mushroomhead's Webstore stockists where pissing about whilst Mushroomhead where on tour. If you didn't receive your sh*t, and have paid, e-mail DJ Stitch (!) from the official MH site here. to sort it out. That's right, Mushroomhead cares enough about there fans to actually take it into their own hands when their fans are deprived. Talk about setting an example!

And don't forget to check out the AWESOME track, Sun Doesn't Rise at the bottom from MH's new album, XIII (Pisses self with excitement)

Frantic - 4L145
(Mon Aug 18 07:46:43 2003)
The first track, Frantic, is the next single from St. Anger. Release date will be Sept. 15th 2003, and various formats will be available.

Personally I feel the track is hollow and empty. These Metal Gods are reduced to Soulfly standard. Any other opinions?

You can also watch the Frantic video here.

Machine Head goodies - revmaynard
(Wed Aug 13 02:44:30 2003)
Machine Head have in the works a filming for the video to their new song "Imperium" on August 25th. It's expected that the video will be on a limited edition bonus cd that will be packaged with the new album "Through The Ashes Of Empires". Also expected to be on the cd is 5 demo tracks and various recording studio footage from the album as well as the live video for "The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears". The album is set to be released on October 13th in Europe, but the band is still without a North American record deal. If this cd ends up like Sepultura's "Roorback" did in the US, I'm gonna smack somebody.

Krisiun's new album and video - 4L145
(Tue Aug 12 21:50:17 2003)
The following taken from the Krisiun website (www.krisiun.com.br)

"Works OF Carnage" is the name of the newest Krisiun΄s album, which will be released worldwide in September, by Century Media Records. Produced by Piιrre Remillard (Cryptopsy, Anvil) "Works Of Carnage" brings out the best what the band can do. The play is very powerful and aggressive, allowing Krisiun to be one icon in the extreme metal scene. After releasing "Works of Carnage", Krisiun will begin an endless tour throughout North America (with Deicide and Hate Eternal ), Europe, Japan and South America. The band is also producing their first video and the chosen song was "Murderer". "Works of Carnage" also brings "In League With Satan" a Venom΄s classic song.

Finally some news from the band (good news this time). I can't wait till they come and visit in Europe. A band every Death Metal fan MUST go and see.

BRMC To Replace The White Stripes At Leeds/Reading!!!!! - Complication
(Sun Aug 3 12:58:29 2003)
Due to the recent car accident involving Jack White, The White Stripes have been forced to pull-out of Leeds and Reading festivals in England. Brought in to replace them are Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club, who have been rumoured to be appearing at the festivals for some time.
BRMC will appear on the Leeds Main Stage before Blur on the Sunday night, and at Reading they will appear before Blur on the Main Stage on the Saturday night.
For fans of the White Stripes, this is a shame as they have pulled out of all festival appearances this summer, but for fan of BRMC, like myself, it can only make the festival better.
